Hi, welcome to our frequently asked questions page! Below are a few answers about content and submissions as well as the zine process!Firstly, what is this zine about?
With Seeking the Truth, we aim to celebrate the gender expression of the Persona 4 character, Naoto Shirogane.Are all forms of gender expression with regards to Naoto acceptable?
Yes 100%, and we would love to see a wide variety of interpretations from transmasculine to transfeminine, nonbinary, genderfluid, agender, bigender, etc. etc.! Please note that we will not be accepting portrayals of naoto as cisgender (whether it be male or female) as that is not what we are looking to highlight in this zine, with the exception of stories which feature Naoto pre-transition but coming to terms with the expression of being transgender.Are ships acceptable?
Yes, as long as Naoto is the focus. Please also keep in mind that we would prefer not to feature any ships with Naoto where an adult or an age gap anywhere over 3 years is involved.Can we involve AUs or crossovers?
We would prefer that things stay as close to canon as possible for clarity and cohesiveness of the zine, so perhaps not crossovers, but certainly AUs!What kind of contributions are you looking for?
We are looking for artists (comic, spread, page), writers, and other artists of any kind such as model-makers, page doll-makers, etc. All contributions must be SFW.Does the above apply to top surgery scars?
Top surgery scars ARE allowed in the zine; if they’re present, we’ll place a warning on the contents page specifying which pieces have them.When will contributor apps open?
We are currently looking at June 15th! We have a calendar which lists all important dates for the zine on the schedule page. They’ll close on the 15th of July, so you have a whole month to get your portfolio together.Can I still apply to be a writing contributor if I haven’t posted anything Persona related before?
You sure can! While we’ll ideally be looking for a showcase of your skills regarding the characters, you can still apply without any previous Persona-related writing– though we’d really like to see at least one piece with Naoto as the focus. There’ll be a section on the writing application for a snapshot of anything you might write with Naoto in it if you’ve not posted anything related to the character before.Is there a Discord?
The Discord for the zine will be opened when contributor apps close and invitations are sent out! It will be a place for us to make announcements, keep the calendar for check-ins handy, discuss pitches, and just generally hang out! Please keep in mind, however, that it will only be open to mods and contributors.Will the zine have a physical release?
Currently, we are looking at a purely digital release which will be free for anyone to download. However, we may consider a physical release in the future, so please stay tuned!
